Dawnathon (noun; dohn-uh-thon):

1) Affectionate moniker coined by Soumya P. in reference to a species of Dawn. Etymological roots can be traced to 2005 when an attempt by Mrs C. to call Mr Jonathan C. (alias “Jon”) was mistaken as a summons for Dawn T. leading to gender confusion and linguistic genius from Soumya P. who was present at the time of this fortituous error.

2) A competitive race for ideal seats. This race may be observed at the start of every class attended by Dawn T, a Singapore-based female Clark Kent whose daytime identity is that of the mousy undergraduate but whose true vocation is a few kinds of awesome. Successful capture of ideal seat will result in joyous munching of Calbee Potato Chips and swigging of canned coffee (which alas can never match up to the brewed variety especially with beans from civet cat poop).

3) A lifelong competition pitting facets of Dawn T. against one another.  ”The race is long; in the end it’s only with yourself.” – Baz Luhrmann, Everybody’s Free.
